They escaped with a win against Brownell Talbot by the margin of a single free throw, 28-27. This was payback for Cedar Bluffs, who suffered a 46-10 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Brownell Talbot saw an underclassman step up: Avery Nichols dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Nichols scored a full 70.4% of Brownell Talbot's points, the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Brownell Talbot struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cedar Bluffs is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Brownell Talbot, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
