The Mullins Auctioneers have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 55-36 bruising from Wando on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mullins has scored all season.
Several Auctioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lonnie Alston, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Alston set a new season high mark in steals with two. Another player making a difference was Braden Hughes, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Mullins' defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Wando, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-6.
Mullins won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Crestwood at 5:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Crestwood is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Wando will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Ashley at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
