Softball Recap: Fort Thomas Wins Going Away Against San Simon

Fort Thomas not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 21-7). They put the hurt on the San Simon Longhorns with a sharp 18-8 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-11 back in March.

Treyiah Declay was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Makayla Chapman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Fort Thomas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Fort Thomas' record is now 7-12. As for San Simon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Thomas will head out to square off against Valley Union at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Apaches are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for San Simon, they will challenge Hayden at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Longhorns will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Lobos will have lost eight straight heading into Monday's match.
