The Midd-West Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They lost to Danville at home by a decisive 54-37 margin. Midd-West has struggled against Danville recently, as their contest on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Midd-West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cole Shutt, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Shutt scored a full 29.7% of Midd-West's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Romig, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Midd-West's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-5. As for Danville, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midd-West will square off against Montoursville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Montoursville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Midd-West in Pennsylvania (Montoursville is ranked 158th, while Midd-West is ranked 485th). As for Danville, they will head out on the road to face off against Lewisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
