The third road matchup was the charm for Shelbyville, as they earned their first road win of the season. They secured a 40-34 W over San Augustine on Friday.
Franny Buckley had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes. Dylan Parker was another key contributor, picking up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Timpson put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Joaquin 69-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Timpson, who have now won six matches by 37 points or more so far this season.
Terry Bussey was a one-man wrecking crew for Timpson as he rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. Bussey really tore up the turf during one magnificent 99-yard run. Another player making a difference was Jj Garner, who rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns.
Shelbyville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Timpson, their victory was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Shelbyville was dealt a bruising 67-14 defeat at the hands of Timpson in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Shelbyville have more luck at home instead of on the road?
