Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Worcester Prep on Saturday and lost 40-26. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Calvary Christian Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 37th in Delaware, while Worcester Prep is ranked 171st in Maryland).
Diaya Armantrading put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leia Sensenig (HS), who scored eight points.
Holly Grove Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Holly Grove Christian skirted past Calvary Christian Academy 21-19 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holly Grove Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
