Warrensville Heights got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chelsea Johnson out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Leilani Mcneill was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Shaw's loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.4 points per game. As for Warrensville Heights, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Shaw will head out on the road to square off against Orange at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Warrensville Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bedford at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Warrensville Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Bedford likes a good challenge.
