Rockport-Fulton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Jones Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockport-Fulton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 837th, while Jones is ranked 292nd).
After only seven points in their last contest, Rockport-Fulton made sure to put some points up on the board against Pleasanton on Friday. Rockport-Fulton came out on top against Pleasanton by a score of 36-28.
Among those leading the charge was Sean Howell, who rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns. Trevor Garcia was another major influence, as he rushed for 73 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, Jones really took it to Floresville for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-14 win at home. Jones pushed the score to 31-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Floresville had little chance of recovering from.
Among those leading the charge was Darion Perez, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Perez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Ryne Espinoza, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Finally capturing their first victory of the season, Rockport-Fulton advanced to 1-5. Jones has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in five of their first six matches, giving them a 5-1 record.
Rockport-Fulton came up short against Jones in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 42-32. Can Rockport-Fulton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
