The Brewbaker Tech Rams lost to the Selma Saints last Tuesday, but the Brewbaker Tech Rams didn't allow the Selma Saints the same satisfaction on Monday. Brewbaker Tech walked away with a 39-29 victory over the Saints. The victory was all the more spectacular given Brewbaker Tech's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Saints are ranked 46th).
Erin Martin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Brewbaker Tech's points. Taliah July was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Brewbaker Tech has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season. As for Selma, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brewbaker Tech will challenge the Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Selma, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
