The Woodsboro Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 62-44 to Refugio. If Woodsboro hoped to take revenge for the 64-62 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Woodsboro's loss came despite strong showings from Layton Jochetz and Taggart Silvas. Jochetz scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while Silvas scored 12 points along with four steals. Jochetz hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Woodsboro has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season. As for Refugio, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-7.
Woodsboro will face off against Skidmore-Tynan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Skidmore-Tynan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Woodsboro likes a good challenge. As for Refugio, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Port Aransas at 7:30 p.m. Port Aransas will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
