The East Side Red Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Seton Hall Prep Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Side is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, East Side earned a 52-41 win over West Side.
Meanwhile, Seton Hall Prep pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-64 to Immaculate Conception. While losing is never fun, Seton Hall Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Immaculate Conception is ranked 17th).
Seton Hall Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Daniel Beazer, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Dylan Guzzardo who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals. Beazer is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Gino Romano, who scored nine points along with five assists.
East Side's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Seton Hall Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
East Side ended up a good deal behind Seton Hall Prep when the teams last played back in January, losing 62-44. Can East Side avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
