Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask David City). They breezed by the Fairbury Jeffs to the tune of 61-28 on Monday. The Scouts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jeffs, too.
Fairbury's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn Timmons, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Timmons is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Izzy Ohlde, who posted eight points.
David City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Fairbury, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
David City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-47 victory against Superior on the 4th. As for Fairbury, they will square off against Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
