The Box Elder Bees entered their tilt with the Henderson Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Box Elder escaped with a win on Friday against Henderson by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49. Given Box Elder's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 36th in Utah, while Henderson is ranked 325th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ashlyn Wight continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Vranes, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Box Elder's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Henderson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Box Elder won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Clarkstown South at 8:30 a.m. on December 16th. Henderson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coatesville at 6:45 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
