The Clint Lions lost against the Parkland Matadors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Clint ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-40 walloping at the hands of Parkland. Clint has struggled against Parkland recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Parkland can attribute much of their success to Justin Rodriguez, who scored 18 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rodriguez has scored at least 25% of Parkland's points. Diego Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 3 steals.
Clint's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Parkland, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Clint will take on Franklin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Franklin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. Parkland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Santa Teresa at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Santa Teresa presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parkland in their respective states (Santa Teresa is ranked 31st in New Mexico, while Parkland is ranked 970th in Texas).
