Baseball Recap: Ripley Extends Home Winning Streak to 12

Ripley barely beat Chapmanville Regional the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 11-0 victory on Thursday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Ripley let Eli Phalen and Cash Clendenin run wild. Phalen got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Clendenin went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple. Those two runs gave Phalen a new career-high. Parker Keller also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ripley pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Chapmanville Regional, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ripley will host George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.9, the Patriots 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Chapmanville Regional, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Riverside at 1:00 p.m.
