The Evangelical Christian Sentinels will head out on the road to square off against the North Fort Myers Red Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evangelical Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Evangelical Christian saw some tournament action on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bishop Verot with a sharp 9-3 victory. Fans of the Sentinels have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Hayden Billie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Evangelical Christian let Payton Billie and Anayeli Guzman run wild. Billie went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Guzman scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave Guzman a new career-high in hits. Samantha Yzaguirre was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Evangelical Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, North Fort Myers' undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Saturday. They fell 5-1 to Coral Springs Charter. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Red Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.
North Fort Myers saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Lane, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Evangelical Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for North Fort Myers, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
Evangelical Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. Evangelical Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for North Fort Myers, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Evangelical Christian continue to outrun the ball?
Evangelical Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over North Fort Myers when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 9-6. Will Evangelical Christian repeat their success, or does North Fort Myers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
