Softball Recap: York Has No Trouble Against Tabb

York won the last time they faced Tabb and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Sarah Witt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bri Petrolia, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Leah Hunter was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

York was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

York is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tabb, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, York will head out on the road to take on Grafton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tabb, they will host Warwick at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
