This season hasn't been kind to the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators, who are still winless after their 16th game. They were dealt a 50-17 defeat at the hands of St. John on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lowcountry Leadership of the 42-22 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
St. John's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daeshia Buford, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Buford is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Jasmyne Robinson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Lowcountry Leadership's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-16. As for St. John's, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowcountry Leadership will square off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwood Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the NaviGators in South Carolina (the Chargers are ranked ninth, while the NaviGators are ranked 273rd). As for St. John's, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Military Magnet Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 271 points over their last three games.
