Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paramount). Everything went their way against the Firebaugh Falcons on Friday as they made off with an 18-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won eight in a row.

Jacob Lara was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Paramount got a massive performance out of Luis Banuelos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Banuelos a new career-high. Diego Padilla also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Paramount always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Paramount's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Firebaugh, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Paramount will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
