The Mountain Pointe Pride will head out to  square off against the Alhambra Lions  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Mountain Pointe will be strutting in after a  victory while Alhambra will be coming in after a  defeat.
Having struggled with 11  losses in a row, Mountain Pointe  turned things around against Desert Edge  on Tuesday. They skirted past the Scorpions  6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Pride have posted  since April 4, 2024.

 Lauryn Chavez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Samantha Graves was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of  Leilani Chavez, who  went 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Alhambra was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They came up short against  ALA - Gilbert North, falling  16-1.
 Alhambra saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Miranda Rodriguez, who  went 1-for-3 with one  triple.
 Mountain Pointe's victory bumped their record up to 8-17-1. As for Alhambra, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
 Everything went Mountain Pointe's way against Alhambra in their previous meeting  back in April of 2015, as Mountain Pointe made off with  a  16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pride since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
