Clearfield is 1-6 against Bountiful since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Clearfield Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Bountiful RedHawks at 5:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clearfield comes in on four and Bountiful on six.
Last Friday, Clearfield was able to grind out a solid win over Roy, taking the game 45-36. Given Clearfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Roy is ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clearfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabelle Wyaskett, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Wyaskett is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ciara De La O, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Bountiful stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Bonneville 81-29 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Bountiful has managed all season.
Clearfield's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Clearfield was taken down by Bountiful 64-27 when the teams last played back in December of 2020. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Clearfield was down 44-16.
