After flying high against Portage Christian last Tuesday, the Victory Christian Academy Lions came back down to earth. Victory Christian Academy had to suffer through a rough 51-23 loss at the hands of the Patriots. Victory Christian Academy has struggled against the Patriots recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Amariah Jankowski was Victory Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Calumet Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenna Landkrohn out in front who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Landkrohn hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Calla Ogden, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Victory Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Calumet Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Christian Academy will take on the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Illiana Christian will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Calumet Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lakers on Tuesday. La Lumiere is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
