After a string of six wins, the Springwood Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakeside School. Springwood lost against Lakeside School in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-42 score last time.
Lakeside School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chloe Helms led the charge by scoring 14 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Helms has scored at least 25% of Lakeside School's points. Another player making a difference was Adalyn Helms, who scored 12 points.
Springwood has yet to win a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 6-1 record. As for Lakeside School, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Springwood will head out on the road to face off against Calvary Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Calvary Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53 points per game. As for Lakeside School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee-Scott Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
