The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pawnee in their matchups with Carlinville: they've now lost six in a row.
Carlinville found their leader in underclassman Sawyer Smith, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tate Duckels, who scored eight points.
Pawnee has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Carlinville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pawnee will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Routt Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlinville, they will face off against Gillespie at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
