After a string of five wins, Burlington's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Melrose 33-41. That makes it the first time this season Burlington have let down their home crowd.
Burlington's defeat pushes them down to 8-2. The victory bumped Melrose's record up to 4-3.
Both teams will be heading out of the conference in their next games. Burlington will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Lexington in five weeks at 10:15 AM. Lexington are cruising in on a four-game winning streak. As for Melrose, they will face off against Litchfield. Unlike Melrose, Litchfield will be limping in after taking a loss.
