In what's become a running theme this season, the Mount Miguel Matadors gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Santana with a sharp 63-41 win. The victory was just what Mount Miguel needed coming off of a 59-35 defeat in their prior contest.
Mount Miguel found their leader in underclassman Jasen Hughes, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hughes has scored all season. Mekhi Sydney was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Mount Miguel has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Santana, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Mount Miguel will head out on the road to square off against El Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Capitan will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Santana, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against El Cajon Valley at 7:00 p.m. El Cajon Valley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
