2A/1A Conference 17 recap September 17, 2013
West Bladen's Malcolm Vaught rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A/1A Conference 17 this season in his game against St. Pauls last week. Vaught scampered for 79 yards on the play and finished with 118 on the day as his team fell to the Bulldogs.
Midway extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lakewood, 31-10. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Trask's dynamic duo of Dylan Kraft and Ruben Chavez proved to be unstoppable against East Columbus, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kraft threw for 67 yards and Chavez had 42 yards receiving.

Chavez was the best wideout in the league this week as Trask lost to East Columbus.
Dezmond Faison was the most successful running back in 2A/1A Conference 17 this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 172 yards as Union fell to Chris Haney's team. Teammate Shyquan Brunson added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.
Faison was a passing and rushing force as the Spartans beat Hobbton.
Kraft put up the best numbers in passing as the Titans fell to the Gators.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Stephon McDonald. The West Bladen star has 1 catches for 66 yards.
Pender lost to Marvin Ridge 70-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
