The Fremont Tigers were the 83-39 winner over the Lincoln Northeast Rockets when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Fremont was outmatched by Lincoln Northeast on the road and fell 59-20. Fremont was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fremont struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lincoln Northeast racked up 12.
Lincoln Northeast was led to victory by Doneelah Washington and Serena Heeren. Washington dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Heeren dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Heeren has scored at least 25% of Lincoln Northeast's points. Another player making a difference was Kiara Phillips, who scored 12 points.
Fremont now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Lincoln Northeast, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Fremont will head out on the road to face off against Millard West at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gretna at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
