Softball Recap: Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology Has No Trouble Against Manchester Regional

Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Manchester Regional Falcons. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.

Troi Jackson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Jasmin Vazquez was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mehkalie Jones, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manchester Regional only posted an OBP of .261.

The win got Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology back to even at 2-2. As for Manchester Regional, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
