The Lone Peak Knights will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Farmington Phoenix at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Friday, Lone Peak needed a bit of extra time to put away Bingham. They won by a run and slipped past the Miners 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 23, 2024.

Landon Fry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other pitching news, Brandon Billings looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Braden Packer, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Farmington had just enough and edged out Westlake 4-2 on Friday. The Phoenix haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Farmington also got a great performance from Josh Hecht as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Lincoln Westlund was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Farmington is 2-1 when Westlund posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise.
Lone Peak has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Farmington, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Everything went Lone Peak's way against Farmington in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Lone Peak made off with a 12-5 victory. Will Lone Peak repeat their success, or does Farmington has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
