The Carpinteria Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 31-14 to Fillmore. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carpinteria in their matchups with Fillmore: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Fillmore to victory were David Jimenez and Josiah Cruz. Jimenez threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, while Cruz rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Carpinteria's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for Fillmore, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
