Stayton put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Newport Cubs by a score of 52-45. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 55-42 victory the Cubs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Stayton's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Newport, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-1 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stayton will take on Cottage Grove in a tournament on Thursday. As for Newport, they are taking a road trip to face off against North Bend at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
