After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barren County, Taylor County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Marion County Knights an 8-0 shutout. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Cole McLean, who gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks to keep Marion County off the board. McLean has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Layken Lyons was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Reace Vaughn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
