Meanwhile, Hammond stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-18 victory over Centennial at home. Given Hammond's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Centennial is ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nia Green continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hammond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Long Reach's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Hammond, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
