Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Atmore Christian

Atmore Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Stingrays on April 4th, they had to take a 21-6 defeat.

Ava Smoker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Smoker was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Tamra Stoltzfus was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Lizzy Landis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.

Atmore Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Atmore Christian's record is now 5-14. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Atmore Christian will head out to challenge West Florida Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Conquerors have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against L.E.A.D. Academy at 5:30 p.m. The Stingrays are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
