Softball Recap: Cameron Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cameron, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on the Barron Golden Bears with a sharp 13-3 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Comets have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emerson Krahenbuhl was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Chloe Larson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Aubree Kreier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Cameron was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in 11 consecutive matchups.

Cameron's win bumped their record up to 11-5-1. As for Barron, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cameron will challenge rival Unity at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Barron is set to take on their familiar foe Cumberland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
