The Academy for Academic Excellence Knights's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past University Prep with points to spare, taking the game 55-36. The victory was just what Academy for Academic Excellence needed coming off of a 82-48 loss in their prior matchup.
Leading Academy for Academic Excellence to victory were Ethan Spidle and Robby Poulsen. Spidle scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds, while Poulsen dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Poulsen's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Nathan Watts was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Academy for Academic Excellence's win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for University Prep, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Academy for Academic Excellence is on the road again on Saturday and play against Riverside Prep at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Riverside Prep is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.8 points per game. As for University Prep, they will be playing at home against Barstow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
