East College Prep is 4-0 against the Grizzlies since December of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The East College Prep Spartans will be playing at home against the ESAT Grizzlies at 2:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East College Prep has five straight victories, the Grizzlies have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Collins Family scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, East College Prep still came out on top. East College Prep walked away with a 62-55 win over the Jaguars.
Meanwhile, ESAT was the victim of a rough 57-35 defeat at the hands of the Guerreros Jaguares on Tuesday. ESAT was down 49-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite their loss, ESAT saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Niel Gabriel Sanchez, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Sanchez is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonah Vasquez, who scored 12 points.
East College Prep's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for ESAT, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Everything came up roses for East College Prep against the Grizzlies in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 58-9 victory. Will East College Prep repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
