After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clinton, the Woodruff Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-19 victory over Union County on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-8.
Woodruff found their leader in underclassman Jaylen Means, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Burnette, who scored eight points along with 11 steals and six assists.
Woodruff's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Union County, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Woodruff will head out on the road to face off against Chester at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union County, they will play host again and welcome Clinton, where tip off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
