Basketball Recap: Covenant Day Comes Up Short

Covenant Day was the 61-32 winner over Charlotte Country Day School when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Covenant Day Lions took a 64-48 bruising from the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers on Thursday. The Lions were down 52-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Covenant Day lost, don't look at Chris Rivens. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 15 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Rivens a new career-high. Josh Krouse was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Charlotte Country Day School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joseph Youakim, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Moe Davis, who put up 11 points.

Covenant Day's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Charlotte Country Day School, their record is now 13-10.

Covenant Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-53 loss against Providence Day on the 24th. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-80 win against Cannon on the 24th.
