Volleyball Recap: Argyle Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Argyle hadn't done well against Lake George recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Scots were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lakers. Winning may never get old, but the Scots sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Argyle's got stronger as the match went on, holding Lake George to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-9.

Delainey Bates paced Argyle's offense, picking up ten kills. Bates got some help from Brooke Austin and her 14 assists.

Despite the defeat, Lake George saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lina Caldaroni had 11 digs. Caldaroni has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Brooklyn Cornell also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Argyle's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Lake George, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Argyle is set to face off against their familiar foe Granville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lake George will take on rival Hartford Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
