Resurrection Christian has gone a perfect 9-0 against Platte Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will host the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Resurrection Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Last Thursday, Resurrection Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley, taking the game 10-5.

Braedyn Budd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, Merick Fisbeck looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddox Sessions, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Brayden MacAlmon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Resurrection Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley only posted a batting average of .259.

Meanwhile, Platte Valley came up short against Yuma on Saturday, falling 10-3.

Platte Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Resurrection Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.

Everything went Resurrection Christian's way against Platte Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Resurrection Christian made off with a 10-1 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
