The Vina Red Devils were the 51-43 winner over the Hubbertville Lions when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Vina fell to Hubbertville 60-55. That's two games in a row now that Vina has lost by exactly five points.
Sara Harper and Layla Hester certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Harper scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 5 steals, while Hester scored 11 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. Harper is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lana Bell, who scored 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Vina and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Hubbertville, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vina will take on Belgreen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hubbertville, they will head out on the road to face off against Brilliant at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brilliant will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
