Moriah is 10-0 against Ticonderoga since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Moriah Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ticonderoga Sentinels at 6:30 p.m. Moriah will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, Moriah narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Saranac 54-52. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Moriah has scored all season.
Moriah's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dieter Olcott, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and eight steals. Olcott is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Joe Pelkey, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Ticonderoga's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 55-45 to Northeastern Clinton. Ticonderoga has struggled against Northeastern Clinton recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Moriah's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Ticonderoga, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Moriah against Ticonderoga when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 61-28 victory. With Moriah ahead 30-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
