Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Lee Academy Cavaliers walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 35-19 victory over Thomas Heyward Academy on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Lee Academy sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Despite the loss, Thomas Heyward Academy still got an impressive performance from Tony O'banner, who rushed for 243 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 93 yards and a touchdown. O'banner was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
Lee Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Lee Academy will take on Patrick Henry Academy at 7:30 p.m. on November 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Patrick Henry Academy is ranked 161st, while Lee Academy is ranked 160th). Thomas Heyward Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
