Octorara Area came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Eastern Lebanon County, falling 9-2.
Octorara Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Naggy, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Naggy also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Kennard-Dale came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Colonials by a score of 7-4.
Ryan Perzanowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Smith, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Gio Sisti was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Kennard-Dale's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Octorara Area, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
