Softball Recap: Monomoy Wins Going Away Against Bourne

Monomoy won the last time they faced Bourne and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Sharks blew past the Canalmen 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won ten contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kinsey Lister made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kiley Mawn, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Hailey Lanciani was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Monomoy's record is now 13-1. As for Bourne, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monomoy will face off against Wareham at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bourne, they will square off against Bishop Stang at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
