Eaton and University are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Eaton Reds will head out on the road to square off against the University Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eaton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests.
Last Thursday, Eaton really took it to Weld Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-25 win at home.
Eaton can attribute much of their success to Mitch Haythorn, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, and Lucas Stone, who scored 15 points. Haythorn hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Sprinkle, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, University was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 56-50 to Sterling.
Eaton's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for University, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15.
Eaton strolled past University in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 57-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eaton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
