Union had a rough outing against Noxapater last week, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Union enjoyed a cozy 30-12 win over J.Z. George.
Union got off to a sluggish start, posting 6 total points in the first half. J.Z. George matched them to leave it all tied up at 6-6. The other side of the ball was dominant for Union in the second half, holding J.Z. George to a measly 6 points.
No one put up better numbers for Union than freshman Kenyon Clay, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse sophomore Peyton Posey, who racked up 15 tackles. The win got Union back to even at 2-2. J.Z. George are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Next week Union take on Newton County at 7:00 PM. As for J.Z. George, they will face off against Holly Springs.
