On Friday Fitchburg take on Marlborough at Crocker Field at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Fitchburg, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Fitchburg have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their game against North Middlesex Regional last Saturday by a conclusive 42-14 score. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Fitchburg's flat performance the contest before.
Meanwhile, after a dominant win in their matchup two weeks ago, Marlborough were humbled. They fell just short of Nashoba Regional by a score of 13-16. Marlborough's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Fitchburg's victory lifted them to 1-3 while Marlborough's loss dropped them down to 3-1. We'll see if Fitchburg's success rolls on or if Marlborough are able to steal their positive momentum.
